All Roads Lead to aiR
September 24, 2026
There’s an old saying about Rome: no matter where you started, no matter which route you take, every road eventually led you there. Rome wasn’t just a destination — it was the center of the system. Everything connected back to it.
At Cimplifi, we’d argue the same is true of Relativity aiR. If you missed their announcement, last week Relativity changed the name of the RelativityOne platform to Relativity aiR.
Look at everything we build — Maestro, CI Lake, CI Migrate, CI Transfer, the entire Cimplifi Innovations (CI) suite — and you’ll notice a pattern. None of it exists in isolation. Each tool is a road, and every one of them leads back to the same place: Relativity aiR, the system of record for legal data intelligence.
We build the roads. Relativity aiR is the destination.
Cimplifi didn’t set out to build a collection of disconnected tools. We set out to build an ecosystem — one designed to move data, insight, and decisions toward Relativity aiR as efficiently as possible, at every stage of the matter lifecycle.
Different roads. Same destination. That’s not an accident — it’s how we’ve built our entire ecosystem. This week, we introduced Maestro and CI Lake — the newest tools in that ecosystem.
- CI Transfer moves data into any repository, securely and efficiently, so it can find its way into a workspace.
- CI Lake gives clients a ubiquitous data repository — pre- and post-matter — where data can be uploaded, searched, and investigated with AI before it ever becomes legal data, and pushed into Relativity aiR the moment it’s ready.
- CI Migrate is our proprietary migration engine, purpose-built to move data from Relativity Server into Relativity aiR quickly, securely, and with far less friction than manual migration.
- CI Admin, PowerCI, CI Search, CI Reporting, CI Toolkit, CI Click, CI Translate, CI Image — the broader CI suite — all exist to make life inside Relativity aiR easier: streamlined administration, cost visibility, cleaner search terms, faster reporting, and more efficient review.
Maestro: The Central Intelligence Layer That Drives the Journey
If CI Lake, CI Transfers, and CI Migrate are the roads, Maestro is what keeps traffic moving in the right direction.
Maestro is not a standalone tool — it’s the AI orchestration platform that runs across the entire Cimplifi ecosystem. Maestro coordinates large language models, purpose-built agents, and automated workflows from the earliest point of data ingestion all the way through matter close. Clients interact with Maestro in natural language to query data, manage environments, and trigger workflow automations, while behind the interface, Maestro runs agentic workflows that are nested, scaled, and fully traceable — every action grounded in trusted data, with access controls and audit trails built in.
Maestro meets clients early, in CI Lake, where it powers natural language querying, giving teams earlier visibility into their data. It keeps data organized and searchable. And it carries through into review, orchestrating workflow automation alongside Relativity aiR Review, Relativity aiR Privilege, and aiR Assist.
At every stage, Maestro is doing the same job: taking today’s most pressing need — getting new data organized, a filtering task, a review deadline — and using AI to route it toward the same outcome. A well-organized, well-governed matter, living in Relativity aiR.
That’s the real story behind everything we build. We’re addressing the needs legal teams have today — faster investigation, less manual review, smarter workflows — but the road we’re paving always ends up in the same place. It’s not a coincidence. Cimplifi and Relativity are building toward the same future, and every innovation is designed to reinforce that path rather than compete with it.
The Clock Is Already Running
There’s also a very real deadline attached to this journey. In early 2025, Relativity announced that, beginning January 1, 2028, all new matters and workspaces would be hosted in Relativity aiR, with some limited customer and geographic exceptions, while existing matters and workspaces could continue to be supported in Relativity Server. Cimplifi made the strategic decision to stop accepting new matters into Relativity Server by the end of 2025. The message from both sides is consistent: the future is in the cloud, and the time to plan your migration is now, not in 2027.
We’ve been on this road since 2019. All our clients already operate in Relativity aiR, and we’ve migrated hundreds of terabytes of data, thousands of workspaces, and billions of files without disrupting a single active matter.
Why make the move now, rather than later? A few reasons rise to the top:
- AI-readiness. Relativity Contracts and the Relativity aiR suite of generative AI solutions transforming review, privilege detection, case strategy and data breach response are cloud-exclusive. There’s no version of this future that lives on Server.
- Scalability. Relativity aiR scales with your data and your caseload, avoiding hardware limits and storage bottlenecks that can slow you down at the worst possible time.
- Security and compliance. Backed by Microsoft Azure, with FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 Type II certifications built in.
- Automation. From case setup to redactions, Relativity aiR automates the repetitive work — and CI Migrate accelerates the move itself with automated ARM creation, QC, and real-time dashboards.
- Cost control. No more infrastructure maintenance or unpredictable upgrade cycles — plus transition credits and no-cost ARM migrations to ease the move.
- A partner who’s already there. Cimplifi is a Relativity Gold Distributor and Provider Partner and has earned its Data Migration Competency. We’ve built our entire ecosystem — CI Lake, CI Migrate, Maestro — specifically to make that transition seamless and strategic.
If you’re not ready to move everything today, CI Lake lets you bridge the gap — keeping legacy and less active data searchable and accessible while you migrate at your own pace.
Every Road We Build Leads Here
That’s the throughline across everything Cimplifi does. Whether it’s an AI orchestration layer like Maestro, a migration engine like CI Migrate, a data repository like CI Lake, or the dozens of tools in the CI suite that make daily work inside Relativity simpler — it’s all built with the same destination in mind.
We’re not building around Relativity aiR because we have to. We’re building around it because that’s where the legal data world is heading, and we intend to make sure our clients get there faster, smarter, and with less friction than anyone else can offer.
All roads lead to Relativity aiR. We just happen to build the best ones to get you there.
If you want to see it in motion, we’ll be at RelFest Chicago, Relativity’s annual gathering for the legal data community, September 29–October 1. Stop by the Cimplifi booth to see Maestro and CI Lake for yourself. It’s fitting timing — RelFest is built around the same idea behind this partnership: as AI capabilities multiply, the companies that keep investing in extensibility are the ones that get legal teams there faster.
